OPHB bio-based antibacterial agent
The antimicrobial functions of Bioserica’s fiber come from OPHB. OPHB is a broad-spectrum bio-based antimicrobial compound that is environmentally friendly and safe. It is certified by Beta Analytic, a radiocarbon dating lab in the fields of archaeology and late quaternary geology, as derived from bio-based carbon.
Broad-Spectrum Antimicrobial
OPHB exhibits outstanding inhibitory or neutralizing effects against a broad-spectrum of gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria, and fungi (such as mold).
Odor-Suppressing
OPHB inhibits and neutralizes odor-causing bacteria, leading to odor suppression or elimination.
Non-Leaching
OPHB is insoluble in water and will not enter the human body through sweat and will not damage the probiotic flora on human skin.
Biocompatibility
OPHB is a compound of hydroxybutyric acid, a molecule produced by the human body and commonly found in human blood plasma, which underpins OPHB’s biocompatibility.

O-F Technology
O-F Technology is the core method for producing Bioserica Pro® filament. This technology involves fixating OPHB onto the surface layers of filaments during continuous melt spinning and solidification process through physical interactions.
